eRubric Assistant (free) is a free rubric generator which works on Windows and Macintosh computers using Microsoft Word.

The rubric generator lets you create reusable automated grading rubrics in Microsoft Word containing your own weighted assessment criteria (in rows) and performance standards with marks (in columns) (view demonstration of using the rubric generator to create an automated analytic rubric). Clicking a cell in the rubric and pressing the F6 function key will highlight the cell, rescale and record the mark. F5 or F7 will vary the mark down or up and F8 will total the marks and convert it to percentage and grade (view demonstration of using an eRubric).

eRubric Assistant can be used at all educational levels and with electronic, paper based assessment or other assessed tasks e.g. practical task, performances or presentations. If you are grading an electronic document you can paste the eRubric into the document and return it via email or your Learning Management System. If you are marking a paper assignment or a presentation you can print the erubric to return it.

eRubric Assistant is included in eMarking Assistant ( compare versions).
